Saab Dealer Team denies ready entry
The Saab Dealer Team has denied the information issued yesterday that a program for the Swedish Touring Car Championship 2009 with Jens Edman is ready.
“We do not know how many races we will take part in. We have not got the required budget yet,” said team boss Jan Warnestad.
Previous STCC font runner Edman was reported to head back to Sweden after racing six years abroad.
“The information released yesterday was not correct. The economy is not there yet, but it is Saab that matters for me and I really hope that we can get the final details together,” said Edman to kristianstadsbladet.se.
The car is ready but the team is working on getting another 200 000 euro. The team states that they are aiming for a budget of 500 000 euro for a full season and that they have reached between 200 000 and 300 000 euro so far.
“We could drive a half season, but one must remember that this is a completely new car that needs development. We want to get the required budget to be able to do this for real,” said Warnestad.
