Brands Hatch test picture special
The MSA British Touring Car Championship held the final official test yesterday ahead of the season start at Brands Hatch on April the 5th. Fabrizio Giovanardi was fastest overall and even managed to break the eight year old lap record on his way.
The BMW’s of Airwaves BMW (Motorbase Performance) were right behind him with newcomer Jonathan Adam second fastest and team mate Robert Collard third.
The other BMW-team, RAC, were further back, in sixth and eight respectively. But Colin Turkington, who was fastest at the previous test at Rockingham, was reported to run the car heavy and setup for a full race distance instead of optimizing the setup for one fast lap.
A number of cars were absent from the test. Jason Hughes of KWR Sport, Dan Eaves and Adam Jones of Carbon Zero Racing and Paul O’Neill of Tech-Speed Motorsport were unable to take part in the test due to different reasons.
TouringCarTimes were present during the test and are proud to present a picture special from the test.
