WestCoast Racing does first test of 2009
Reigning Swedish Touring Car Championship team champions WestCoast Racing completed their first test of the season today. The test was held at Falkenberg on the west coast of Sweden.
“It was a very nice day for the test and it feels great start this early,” said reigning champion Richard Göransson.
The team completed many laps around the fast track and got a lot of good data regarding the “new” Yokohama tyres. The Japanese tyre manufacturer replaces Michelin this year for STCC.
“We got good indications on the new Yokohama tyres, it was a lot of impressions on a short period of time,” said Göransson.
While Göransson is “new” to the WCR team, Rudholm starts his fourth year in succession. The Swede was pleased with the test day.
“Normally there is always something that needs to be adjusted after the winter, but today we had no issues at all,” said Rudholm.
The two WCR drivers are going to Germany tomorrow to take part in the VLN-race of the weekend. They are going to drive a Schubert Motorsport prepared BMW 320 diesel in the four hour long race.
