Turkington expects strong season for RAC
Colin Turkington and Team RAC had a strong season start at Brands Hatch. The BMW-man is second in the championship, trailing leader Matt Neal with six points.
“This has been a very strong weekend – not only for me, but for Team RAC,” said Turkington.
While Turkington did not score a win at Brands, he is still satisfied despite coming very close in the second race.
“While the second race was a disappointment, you don’t need to win every race to be in contention for the championship,” said Turkington.
The strong opening of the season has filled Turkington with confidence for the rest of the season.
“Even with the ballast in the final race, the car felt well balanced. Overall, I am delighted with how today has gone and look forward to Thruxton in three weeks time,” said Turkington.
Team manager Dick Bennetts was more than pleased with the performance of Turkington and team mate Stephen Jelley.
“Colin performed very well throughout the weekend and is a product of the good work he has been doing with his new engineer John [Morton]. Stephen has started the season promisingly and will score well throughout the year.”
