Brands Hatch premiere picture special
The British Touring Car Championship 2009 started off last weekend with a bang. The three races of the weekend saw three different winners: Matt Neal, Rob Collard and Jason Plato. TouringCarTimes are proud to present a picture special from the race weekend at Brands Hatch.
Neal won the first race from pole position. But he did not keep the lead for the entire race. The Vauxhall-man was passed by two BMW’s at the start, but was soon able to regain the lead.
The second race saw BMW getting revenge. Rob Collard clinched the first win of the year for the “new” Airwaves BMW team ahead of Colin Turkington and Neal.
The third and final weekend saw controversy between debutant Jonathan Adam and veteran Jason Plato. The both came together in the beginning of the race which saw Plato doing an amazing spin recovery.
Adam was penalized because of the incident and moved down to second place behind Plato who inherited the win.
The racing resumes at Thruxton in little over two weeks.
