Video – The cars of STCC 2009

The Swedish Touring Car Championship is less than two weeks away. The pre season testing is currently under way with two days at Mantorp and Gelleråsen completed so far. TouringCarTimes were present during the test at Mantorp Park and are proud to present a video special from the day, presenting the cars of STCC 2009.

The first test at Mantorp saw the WestCoast Racing drivers on top with champion Richard Göransson fastest and Robin Rudholm second.

The second test at Gelleråsen once again saw BMW’s on top, but this time rival team Flash Engineering. Thed Björk was fastest ahead of team mate Jan “Flash” Nilsson.

But despite the BMW dominance, debate has been going on within the STCC circles that other teams and cars are sand bagging.

The Volvo team has for example tested a lot ahead of the official tests and has according to the official STCC site gone through 100 Yokohama tyres.

Testing resumes next week with one unofficial test at Mantorp on tuesday followed by the final official test at Knutstorp on thursday.
