Tempus Sport confident ahead of Thruxton

After a good start to the 2009 season, having already scored more than twice the points obtained last year, Harry Vaulkhard is confident ahead of this weekend’s second event of the British Touring Car Championship at Thruxton.

During the pre-season tests Vaulkhard had an accident at Thruxton, hitting the barriers hard and damaging the car. But despite that he remains confident about the weekend, as he has other good memories of the track.

“Thruxton is one of my favourite circuits, and apart from testing earlier this year, I’ve had some very good experiences there. Perhaps most notably I won the 2007 British Seat Cupra R championship at Thruxton in the final round of the season, and it was on my birthday! It was also the first place I led a race.”

Tempus Sport Team Director Richard Coleman looks back at the hard work done after the good Brands Hatch weekend.

“Our debut at Brands Hatch seems like an age ago and we’ve had a lot of debriefs and done a lot of work to go forward for this weekend at Thruxton. Harry scored more points at Brands than he did all season in 2008, and we’re confident we can build on that tally.”

While the team only got to do a few laps at Thruxton due to the crash, Coleman is confident that they will be on pace.

“Of course, we did briefly test at the track back in February, but unfortunately it was only for a handful of laps. Nevertheless, we’ve seen the pace and potential of the car so lets hope for some good racing.”
