Double win for Rudholm at Gelleråsen

Robin Rudholm completed his dream weekend by a second victory in the second Swedish Touring Car Championship race at Gelleråsen.
“From zero points to maximum points, fantastic! I was able to fight past a couple of guys, the car was perfect today,” said Rudholm.

Johan Stureson secured his best finish of the year in second, two seconds behind Rudholm.
“A really good race and I am over the moon with the results this weekend,” said Rudholm.

Thed Björk finished third after passing Roger Eriksson on the last lap. Eriksson had pole position and held the lead for a good number of laps.

Unfortunately the SEAT driver made a mistake in the hairpin, braked too late which enabled Rudholm and Stureson to get past. Björk and Eriksson touched lightly when Eriksson got back on to the track.
“I had the pace for second place, but Eriksson came out straight in front of me after his off. But I am pleased with third and taking the championship lead,” said Björk.

Eriksson finished fifth after previous championship leader Richard Göransson. The WestCoast Racing driver had a hard weekend and managed only to take four points.

Tomas Engström finished sixth ahead of Jan “Flash” Nilsson and Tommy Rustad.

Fredrik Ekblom was just ouside a point finish for the bio gas Volkswagen Scirocco in ninth ahead of Mattias Andersson in tenth.

Mantorp race one winner Robert Dahlgren had a tough weekend and was forced to retire once again with technical problems.

The next STCC race takes place at the streets of Gothenburg in two weeks.
