Rudholm on pole after penalty for Dahlgren
Robin Rudholm secured pole position in the qualifying session for the third Swedish Touring Car Championship race of the year. Robert Dahlgren was fastest in the qualifying, but got moved down ten positions on the grid due to an engine change.
“It has been a good morning! We have good speed in the car and it feels nice to start from pole. Now I just want to do my start and pull away,” said Rudholm.
Tomas Engström took a strong second on the grid in his Honda Accord ahead of the Alfa Romeo of Mattias Andersson.
Championship leader Richard Göransson secured fourth on the grid despite carrying maximum ballast weight.
“Fourth is not bad! I am pleased with it and now it is soon time for race,” said Göransson.
The WestCoast Racing driver beat rival BMW man Thed Björk of Flash Engineering with 0.002 seconds.
“I gave it everything! We have to work more with the settings, but I have the inside line for the first corner which is nice,” said Björk.
Johan Stureson secured sixth on the grid ahead of Tommy Rustad and Jan “Flash” Nilsson.
Thomas Schie is going to start ninth ahead of the penalized Dahlgren.
Fredrik Ekblom was unable to take part in the qualifying due to a broken gearbox of his bio gas powered Volkswagen Scirocco.
