Nash aims to beat Plato and Jackson
James Nash makes his British Touring Car Championship debut at Oulton Park this weekend. His goal is to beat fellow Chevrolet drivers Jason Plato and Mat Jackson.
“The aim is to try and beat the other RML cars. It’s going to be all about getting used to the Chevrolet as quickly as possible,” said Nash to BTCC.net.
Last year Nash drove in the SEAT Eurocup, as series that ran alongside the WTCC.
Nash is full of confidence ahead of his BTCC debut at Oulton and is aiming to finish top five in at least one of the three races.
“My aim is to qualify in the top ten and get a top five in one of the three races. I’d be happy with a top five – but then probably disappointed I didn’t do better!”
Nash has done a lot of races before at Oulton Park and he feels that it is getting used to the Chevrolet that is going to take most energy.
“You sit lower in it and it’s a bigger car all-round compared to the SEAT Cupra. In terms of track time I’m not at a disadvantage. I already know Oulton and have had some good results around there.”
