Volkswagen gets 50 kilos removed

The Swedish Touring Car Championship Volkswagen team has lost the extra 50 kilos for the race in Gothenburg.
“We have made good progress with all the data and information that was missing earlier,” said Johnny Haraldsson, technical director of STCC, to TouringCarTimes.com.

The extra 50 kilos was added to the car when Volkswagen refused to release all details of the car to the STCC organization.

According to our information the main issues were the turbo pressure and the shape of the rear diffuser.

“There has been a couple of technical changes of the engine and the rear bumper has been changed to the original one,” said Haraldsson.

With the rear bumper now completely standard, the car has no longer got a diffuser, something that was hotly debated before by the other teams.
