Thomas Schie leaves Chevrolet

Chevrolet Motorsport Sweden and Thomas Schie have parted ways. The Norwegian is not going to take part in the Swedish Touring Car Championship any more this year.
“As soon as the economy turns back and I can put more time on racing, I want to be back,” said Schie.

Schie has had a slow start on the season and only scored seven points, leaving him in 11th position of the championship.

The Chevrolet team is currently looking for a new driver.

“I cannot comment today on who is going to take over after Schie. But we hope to have a new driver ready as soon as possible,” said team boss Nicklas Karlsson.

The team does not rule out that Schie could return to the team at some point.

“We hope that Schie gets back to us as soon as possible and we are going to have contact with him during his break”, said Karlsson.
