Thed Björk tops penalty weight list
The penalty weight list for the Swedish Touring Car Championship rounds seven and eight at Knutstorp has been released. Championship leader Thed Björk, BMW, heads the list with maximum penalty weight of 1230 kilos. Volvo man Tommy Rustad is second in the list, some 31 kilos behind Björk.
Tomas Engström’s Honda Accord will weigh 1180 kilos at Knutstorp after his win during the last race in Gothenburg.
The two Volkswagen Scirocco’s of Fredrik Ekblom and Patrik Olsson that topped the first weight lists are lower down this time as the technical bureau of STCC have lowered the base weight with another 20 kilos.
The reason behind the lowering of the weight is that Volkswagen Motorsport has released more information about the engine and turbo, plus that the air restrictor for the turbo has been changed.
The lightest of the works drivers is Gothenburg pole man, but later moved ten positions, Robert Dahlgren.
The Volvo driver has had a tough season start after his race one win and is currently 10th in the championship after only scoring one point in Gothenburg.
