Victory and disaster for Volvo
Tommy Rustad won the first race at Falkenberg, to the joy of Volvo, while his team mate Robert Dahlgren retired with engine problems yet again.
“I am so happy right now! Everything worked perfectly in the race,” said Rustad.
Thed Björk finished second in the race after a hard fight with rival BMW driver Richard Göransson.
“It was close but I had it under control. I am very happy with second, the points for the championship are extremely important,” said Björk.
Johan Sturesson finished fourth ahead of Roger Eriksson who took fifth. Eriksson had a hard fight with Mattias Andersson earlier in the race.
Andersson though had to retire with mechanical problems and had to park his Alfa Romeo beside the stranded Volvo of Dahlgren.
Jan “Flash” Nilsson finished seventh and Tomas Engström claimed eight and gets pole position for the second race. Fredrik Ekblom and privateer Johan Kristoffersson rounded off top ten.
