Andersson want Alfa success at Gelleråsen

Last time Alfa Romeo driver Mattias Andersson visited Gelleråsen, a drive shaft broke. The Swedish Touring Car Championship resumes after the summer break at Gelleråsen shortly and this time Andersson promises there will be a different story for him.
“We were very unlucky as the drive shaft had a manufacturing error and broke only after a couple of laps. This will not happen again,” said Andersson to STCC.se.

To prevent this type of error the team is testing new components for 100 kilometers before they are used.

“The same thing goes for the engines. If it is a manufacturing error, it is most likely going to break after a short period of time. We are going to avoid that in the future,” said Andersson.

Another thing Andersson hopes is going to bring better results for the team is their assistance from Italy with mechanics and engineers.

“They have been a great help! Last year we got a lot of information from Italy via telephone. But this year they have been with us on the tracks and have been able to work much more closely with us on the development of the car,” said Andersson.

Last time at Gelleråsen, Andersson managed to qualify third before the drive shaft broke early in the first race.

“We have done some changes that we feel confident about. If we get things as we want, we should end up in top five. We hope to be right up there, just as last time,” said Andersson.
