No Saab at Gelleråsen

There will be no Saab Dealer Team with Jens Edman when the Swedish Touring Car Championship returns after the summer break at Gelleråsen next weekend.
“The goal from the team was to take part at Gelleråsen. But the last tests made us realize that it was not possible,” said Edman to Kristianstadsbladet.

The team completed a test earlier this week and more tests are planned for next week.

“I get to drive a lot, you have to be happy about that! But despite it all, we are not that far behind,” said Edman.

There has been no decision so far on which track the team is going to make their debut on.

Three races remain after Gelleråsen: Våler (Norway), Knutstorp and the final at Mantorp Park.

“I cannot answer that, but of course I hope that we do some races before the end of the year,” said Edman.

While Edman has done all testing so far with the Saab, there are still questionmarks whether he is going to drive the car if the team decides on a full season next year.

“We will see after this year, but it has worked good with Jens. There is nothing to complain about,” said team boss Jan Warnestad.
