Dahlgren wins chaotic second race
Robert Dahlgren took revenge from the first race and won the second race of the day at Gelleråsen. Dahlgren started third and fought his way up in to a lead that he kept over the finish line.
“At last, it was close to a perfect weekend for me! Flash ruined my first race and I am sad for Rustad who was unable to race,” said Dahlgren.
The start and the first lap of the race was extremely chaotic. The field bounched up and several cars went in to each other. Richard Göransson spun off the track, Jan “Flash” Nilsson was penalized for a jump start.
Mattias Andersson managed to survive the first lap chaos and finished second after getting past pole man Patrik Olsson.
Third went to Robin Rudholm who also managed to squeeze past Olsson.
“It was a chaotic race and I am glad that I got through it as well as I did. I am pleased with two third places from this weekend,” said Rudholm.
Thed Björk crossed the line as fourth, but was third for a while. The championship leader got past Olsson and was gaining on Andersson when he made a mistake which enabled Rudholm to get past.
“I am very disappointed with my mistake. But I am on the other hand pleased to have increased my championship lead from two points to eight,” said Björk.
Göransson recovered from his first lap off and finished fifth. The young Olsson managed to secure sixth in a battered Volkswagen Scirocco, ahead of Pontus Mörth and Nilsson.
Dick Sahlén was the winning privateer driver, with rival BMW driver Viktor Hallrup rounding off top ten.
Tommy Rustad had another dark race as the technical problems from race one forced him to sit out the second race, loosing a lot of valuable points.
