Jan “Flash” Nilsson takes win no. 32

Jan “Flash” Nilsson secured his 32nd Swedish Touring Car Championship win today at Gelleråsen. Robert Dahlgren started from pole but was passed by “Flash” in the first corner after locking up the wheels and getting a tap from behind.
“My plan was to win the race and that worked well! I like being on top of the podium,” said “Flash”.

Richard Göransson was close through out the entire race but was unable to get past. The WestCoast Racing driver was only 0.397 seconds behind over the finish line.

“I stayed behind “Flash” because I thought he was going to get a penalty for the first corner incident,” said Göransson.

Göransson’s team mate Robin Rudholm secured third ahead of Thed Björk. The Flash Engineering driver started seventh but was able to get past Mattias Andersson and Tomas Engström in the closing stages of the race.

Dahlgren recovered after the first corner incident and crossed the line as sixth, behind Andersson and ahead of Engström.

Patrik Olsson of the Volkswagen team claimed the final point finish and is going to start from pole in the second race.

Tommy Rustad had a dark race as the Volvo driver had to retire with technical problems early on.
