Björk vs. Rustad for the title

The title fight of the Swedish Touring Car Championship 2009 has developed in to a fight between the Swede Thed Björk and the Norwegian Tommy Rustad. Six points separate the both with two race weekends left.
“It is tough being a Norwegian in STCC, it feels like it is me against Sweden,” said Rustad to STCC.se.

While Björk leads the championship, Rustad has taken four victories so far while Björk has taken none so far.

“Thed has chosen a tactic and I think he would be very disappointed if he lost the lead and did not win the championship.

He has been in the lead since the second race, I and Volvo would see it as a bonus if we could get past. Thed has got everything to lose, I have got everything to win,” said Rustad.

Björk disagrees with Rustad on the subject.

“The STCC title is not won or lost until after the final race. The fight is still raging on and I welcome Rustad in to it. I feel very confident for the final races,” said Björk.
