Dahlgren and Rustad penalized
The Volvo drivers have been penalized after the second race at Knutstorp. Robert Dahlgren received yellow card and minus 10 points in the championship after his incident with Thed Björk.
The yellow card for Dahlgren is his second this season and it means that he gets minus ten places for the grid during the next race at Mantorp.
Tommy Rustad got a 30 second penalty for the incident in the first corner. That incident eliminated Richard Göransson and Jan “Flash” Nilsson, plus spinning around Robin Rudholm.
The STCC organization is also investigating a further penalty for the Volvo team because of the incident between Björk and Dahlgren.
Dahlgren commented the incident between him and Björk in a press release from Volvo where he blamed Björk for it.
“It was terribly sad and ugly. It would have been the race of my life and I cannot understand how Björk and his team thinks.
I passed the entire field without a single incident, but I cannot be close to a BMW from Flash Engineering without it becoming a problem. If they do not hit me in the start, they him me when I try to pass,” said Dahlgren.
The press release from Volvo further states: “Dahlgren has got the inside line and is a half car length ahead at the exit of the corner when Thed Björk turns in and hits Dahlgren.”
Björk commented the matter.
“I cannot understand how they can think like that. As said, they tried this time, but I am still going to beat them at Mantorp,” said Björk.
