Saab entry likely for Mantorp

The Saab team is looking set to make their Swedish Touring Car Championship debut at Mantorp Park this weekend.
“It is our goal and it looks like we are going to be on the grid,” said team owner Jan-Olov Warnestad to the official championship site.

At first it was rumored that the Saab team would join the championship after the mid season break, but it all got delayed.

“We had the ambition to do the races after the break, but it did not happen as we did not feel ready for it,” said Warnestad.

The team is currently working hard on overcoming problems with a damper mounting.

“We have tested five times and last time a damper mounting broke. It has taken time to mend it, but we hope to have it ready for the weekend,” said Warnestad.

While the team has done a lot of preparation ahead of their debut, the final decision is not taken yet.

“We have not taken the final decision yet, but it certainly looks like we are going to be on the grid,” said Warnestad.
