Robert Dahlgren: “I get hate emails”
The incident between Robert Dahlgren and Thed Björk at Knutstorp has upset many people.
“I get emails where it says “you can burn in hell”, but it is hard to reply to them as they are sent with false email addresses,” said Dahlgren to DN.se.
But despite the severity of the penalty he received, minus ten championship points, Dahlgren says that he would do the same thing again if he got the chance.
“It would be a official misconduct if I did not go for the victory. How often in your career do you get the chance to start from the back and have the opportunity to win on the last lap? Of course you take that chance,” said Dahlgren.
Dahlgren is currently ninth in the championship after a trouble filled season.
“I have raced for 20 years and I have never had so much bad luck this year. We have really done everything right, we have a very fast car and it felt like we could just go up and get the championship trophy,” said Dahlgren.
Björk said that he felt robbed of a victory after the incident between him and Dahlgren. But the disappointment is gone, according to the BMW man.
“I was so disappointed after Knutstorp. But that is all gone now. I have turned it around and I have never been this motivated,” said Björk.
The two drivers have not spoken since the incident two weeks ago.
“I have not been around Karlskoga (where Björk lives) and stopped by for cookies. Perhaps after the final race,” said Dahlgren.
