Rudholm to leave WestCoast Racing?
Robin Rudholm’s contract with WestCoast Racing is ending on the 31st of December this year. The Swede could be leaving the team after four years with them.
“My deal with WestCoast Racing is ending, I do not know more than that today,” said Rudholm to the official championship site.
The team has got the option to extend Rudholm’s contract for another year, but rumors suggest that WestCoast Racing might not be able to run two cars next year due to their main sponsor Tools leaving them.
“I have driven for WestCoast Racing during four years and showed where that work has led us. We have a dialogue about next year, but I am not closing any options,” said Rudholm.
Rudholm finished third in the drivers championship of 2009, his best ever finish in the STCC.
“I think that I have done a good job this year and most of all given (Richard) Göransson a hard internal fight. I want to continue in the STCC and continue driving a winner’s car,” said Rudholm.
While rumors suggest that WestCoast Racing might have to only run one car next year, team boss Dick Jönsson Wigroth comments the matter.
“We are working on building up the network around the team, so I cannot promise anything. It usually takes a lot of time if you are going to find something that suits you well,” said Jönsson Wigroth.
