Financial problems for Swedish Honda team

The Swedish Honda team Engström Motorsport are in deep economical problems and have been forced to perform a company reconstruction. The team signed a three year deal with Honda Sweden ahead of the 2008 season, a deal that Honda pulled out from after just one year due to financial problems.

This is one of the main factors that have put Engström Motorsport in to the economical problems.

According to the Swedish newspaper Dala Demokraten, the final blow for the team came in october when one of their partners failed to fulfill a deal worth 150.000 €.

The team ran one car for team owner Tomas Engström in the Swedish Touring Car Championship this year. Engström finished eight in the championship with one win in Gothenburg as his best result.

The team is aiming to get back on the same level as before, after the company reconstruction.
