KMS takes over the Volkswagen team

Kristoffersson Motorsport has taken over the running of the gas-powered Volkswagen Scirocco’s in the Swedish Touring Car Championship.
“It is fantastic and wonderful to be back in the heat again. I am both happy and proud over the trust we have been given to lead Team Biogas in STCC,” said team boss Tommy Kristoffersson.

Team Brovallen Motorsport, lead by Tobias Johansson, ran the Volkswagen cars in STCC during the past season, but has for reasons, not yet disclosed, been replaced by Kristoffersson Motorsport.

Team boss Tommy Kristoffersson is aiming high for the future with Volkswagen and E.ON.

“STCC is the toughest national touring car championship, it takes a solid teamwork with high competence and moral to reach our goal to win a sixth championship,” said Kristoffersson.

The team is rumored to expand to three cars for 2010, with a yet unknown driver joining regular drivers Fredrik Ekblom and Patrik Olsson.

KMS lost their deal with Audi ahead of the 2008 STCC season after being the official Audi team since 1998. The team ran privateer Audi’s in STCC 2008 and 2009.
