Ebbesson impresses on debut STCC test

Andreas Ebbbesson makes his Swedish Touring Car Championship debut this year and has already shown impressive form. The privateer was ninth fastest at the first official STCC test of the year, outpacing a number of works drivers.
“I am really pleased. I would have been even quicker if I had continued driving, but we are saving the material for Jyllandsringen,” said Ebbesson to the official championship site.

Ebbesson was just tenths behind multiple STCC champion and Volkswagen driver Fredrik Ekblom during the test at Gelleråsen.

“I have respect for the other drivers knowledge, but I am not going to give anything for free on the track just because I am a newcomer,” said Ebbesson.

And Ebbesson did get close contact with the experienced STCC drivers during the first test as he got a push from double STCC champion Jan “Flash” Nilsson.

“I was on my way to the pits and tried to stay away but he gave me an unnecessary push. I have one up on him,” said Ebbesson.
