Tomas Engström wants Scandinavian title

Hartmann Honda driver Tomas Engström is aiming for the title in the Scandinavian Touring Car Cup, starting this weekend at Jyllandsringen.
“The goal is to win the cup,” said Engström.

Engström was supposed to have James Thompson as team mate. But the Brit left the team unexpectedly two days ago.
“Really sad. I was looking forward to co-operating with him,” said Engström.

Engström takes part in the European Touring Car Cup along side his programme in the Scandinavian Cup. The Swede is fourth in the ETCC championship standings and the team has worked hard on the cars since the first european race.

“We have worked hard with the cars since the race in Portugal, trying to maximize everything ahead of this weekend,” said Engström.

The Honda driver is going to face tough opposition in the form of drivers like Jan Magnussen, Richard Göransson, Robert Dahlgren and Thed Björk.

“I know what the Swedish teams can do and we know that Casper Elgaard and Jan Magnussen are going to be tough to beat, just as Jason Watt in the SEAT. But Jyllandsringen is the hometrack of Hartmann Racing and the team had good results here last year. We are of course optimistic,” said Engström.
