Dominant pole position for Tom Chilton

Tom Chilton was untouchable in the Brands Hatch qualifying for the third race weekend of the British Touring Car Championship. The Aon Ford-driver put 1:31.604 on his first flying lap. Gordon Shedden came closest to him, almost half a second off.

James Nash showed strong form in the Triple Eight prepared Vauxhall Vectra in third, although eight tenths slower than Chilton.

Matt Neal claimed fourth, just nine hundredths of a second behind Nash. Robert Collard was best BMW-driver ahead of the two Chevrolet drivers Alex MacDowall and Jason Plato.

Andrew Jordan took eight on the grid ahead of Chilton’s team mate Tom Onslow-Cole.

The Team Aon driver was in the top but got all of his times wiped during the session as his car failed a ride height test. He later managed to get back out, but only to set ninth fastest time.
