Tom Chilton: “A lap from the gods!”
Tom Chilton crushed the opposition in the qualifying for the British Touring Car Championship race tomorrow at Brands Hatch. The Ford-driver took pole position with close to half a second.
“That was like a lap from the gods! The car out the back on the GP loop was right on the limit but so fast,” said Chilton to btcc.net.
While Chilton’s closest opponent, Gordon Shedden, was just under half a second behind him, the gap to third placed man James Nash was over eight tenths.
Although Chilton is quickest by far, the Team Aon driver is worried about the weather.
“I’m also confident that we can run the same set-up for the races but we’ll take a call in the morning – it could be wet and, out of all the days of testing we did pre-season, none were wet,” said Chilton.
