Tom Chilton claims first LPG victory
Tom Chilton claimed the first ever victory for an LPG-powered car in the first British Touring Car Championship of the day at Brands Hatch. Gordon Shedden finished third on a very wet track after passing a fast-starting Rob Collard earlier in the race.
Tom Onslow-Cole made it two Team Aon-cars on the podium by finishing third, close to nine seconds behind his team mate.
Onslow-Cole was also able to get past Collard in the early stages of the race. Collard made a very fast start, from fifth to second, but couldn’t stop Shedden and Onslow-Cole and had to settle for fourth.
Matt Neal claimed fifth ahead of Paul O’Neill. Alex MacDowall was able to keep his team mate Jason Plato behind him. The Chevrolet duo crossed the line with just 0.243 seconds between them.
Tom Boardman and Mat Jackson rounded off top ten.
