War of words between “Flash” and Dahlgren

Jan “Flash” Nilsson has made a statement about rival Volvo driver Robert Dahlgren that has got a lot of attention in the press.
“It is hard to say who is going to win it this year. It is easier to tip who is not going to win. I’m not going to win, neither is Dahlgren,” said “Flash” to the official championship site.

Speculations have been made whether the statement should be regarded as a threat towards Dahlgren as tension between him and the Flash Engineering-team has run high since the controversial crash between Dahlgren and Thed Björk last year at Knutstorp.

“I would have considered it as a threat if I was Dahlgren, but consider it more as a tip. There are many reasons that he is not going to win this year. Dahlgren has an undeserving rumor of being quick. Last year he had the advantage of a light car, but with the new weight rules Tommy Rustad is going to be tough for him,” said “Flash”.

Despite that Dahlgren leads the championship after a solid premiere weekend, “Flash” still does not think the Volvo driver has got it for the title this year.

“Dahlgren has done the same mileage that we do in a full season, but still Rustad was quicker than him in Denmark. Dahlgren has made many enemies during the years and that is going to affect things of course. He is never met with respect on the track. People stick at it a bit extra when they race against him and that problem does not Rustad have,” said “Flash”.

Dahlgren takes the sharp comments from “Flash” with ease.
“There is an English expression saying “The bullshit stops when the flag drops.” I welcome the challenge from Flash,” said Dahlgren.
