Mattias Andersson won after 133 tries

It took Mattias Andersson 133 races to claim his first every victory in the Swedish Touring Car Championship. And the Alfa Romeo-driver was a happy man after crossing the line first at Knutstorp last weekend.
“It feels amazing. We have fought for this so long, we have been second and third so many times,” said Andersson to the official championship site.

Andersson managed to keep Robert Dahlgren, Richard Göransson and Thed Björk behind him in greasy conditions after having started from pole position thanks to the top eight reversed grid.

“The car was setup for something between dry and wet. It was all about keeping Dahlgren behind me to the hairpin. From the hairpin and to the start/finish straight I had a good car,” said Andersson.

Andersson say the win strengthened him and that there are more wins to come.

“There are going to be more victories. We were fifth last year and the goal is to do an even better job this year,” said Andersson.
