Rustad gutted after catastrophic season start

Tommy Rustad has had the worst possible start of the Swedish Touring Car Championship 2010. Apart from a win in the first race in Denmark, the reigning champion has only scored three points in five races.
“This is far below our expectations and we have had setbacks in two races in a row now,” said Rustad to the official championship site.

The last race at Karlskoga continued on the same trend with Rustad being penalized with 30 seconds in the first race for an incident with Björk and a unimpressive second race where he finished 10th.

“He gave me a couple of pushes and I lost my line so he could squeeze past. He braked very early in the next corner and unlucky enough I hit his back corner so he disappeared off track and had to retire,” said Rustad.

Next race is the street race in Gothenburg in two weeks where the Norwegian claimed his first win last year.

“Things must get better in Gothenburg. That is where I took my first win last year and I hope for a repeat this year,” said Rustad.

Rustad is currently 10th in the championship, a massive 70 points behind his team mate Robert Dahlgren.
