Dahlgren fastest by three tenths in Gothenburg

Championship leader Robert Dahlgren topped the first test session in Gothenburg. The Volvo driver lapped the city race track in 47.990, three tenths ahead of Knutstorp race winner Mattias Andersson.

Dahlgren’s team mate and reigning champion Tommy Rustad was third fastest, just 0.023 seconds behind Andersson. Rustad had a scary moment as he lost control of his car in one of the chicanes, fortunately he was able to miss the barriers.

Jan Magnussen impressed by being fourth fastest in his first ever contact with the track, driving the, for Magnussen, new Chevrolet Lacetti.

Fredrik Ekblom was fifth fastest ahead of BMW-drivers Richard Göransson and Thed Björk. Patrik Olsson and Roger Eriksson was eight and ninth respectively ahead of previous race winner Jan “Flash” Nilsson.

The testing continues in Gothenburg with a second session at 18.25 CET.
