Half time statistics for STCC 2010

Half the Swedish Touring Car Championship season is over and TouringCarTimes.com presents all the statistics from the season so far. Who has been on the podium most number of times? Who has overtaken most drivers? Who is the best driver in qualifying? Read it all here!

Victories

Championship top duo Robert Dahlgren and Richard Göransson top the statistics of most number of victories. A total of six drivers has been on the very top of the podium in the eight races of this season. Dahlgren and Göransson has each taken two victories so far.

Second places

Dahlgren is not only on top of the most number of victories, the Volvo driver has the most second place finishes as well. Dahlgren has been second three times this year, two more than his closest rivals.

Third places

The fight for the most number of third places is closest. Göransson shares the top with Fredrik Ekblom and Patrik Olsson, all three having taken two third places this year.

Podium finishes

There is no surprise in Dahlgren and Göransson being on top of the most number of podium finishes list. The top duo has been on the podium in all but two races this year, scoring a total of six podiums.

The two Team Biogas.se drivers Ekblom and Olsson are closest with three podiums each.

Pole positions

Unlike last year, there is a close match for the number of pole positions. The four qualifying sessions this year has given four different pole position drivers.

Q2 of top ten

Björk, Göransson, Dahlgren and Rustad have all four made it in all races to the Q2 session. Dick Sahlén has interestingly enough not been in Q2 once this year, despite him being fifth in the championship.

Qualifying average of top ten

Championship leader Dahlgren is outstanding in qualifying. The Polestar Racing driver has on average started second so far this year. Göransson is far from Dahlgren with an average of 4,8 on the grid.

Both Björk and Rustad are high up in this list, showing that they both have the speed, but not been able to materialize it in to results so far this year.

Q1 average of top ten

The average position in Q1 shows a different list compared to the Q2 list. Reigning champion Rustad tops this list with 2,3 on average, a place that changes to 3 in the Q2 session.

The only driver improving his position from Q1 to Q2 of the top ten drivers is Jan “Flash” Nilsson, from 8,5 to 8,0.

Fastest laps

Dahlgren is undoubtedly the fastest driver over a lap, something that clearly shows, not only in the number of pole positions, but also in the number of fastest laps. Dahlgren tops the list with three ahead of Göransson who has got two.

Average finishing position of top ten

Championship leader Dahlgren has on average finished third so far this season. Championship rival Göransson is just 0,5 places behind on average.

At the bottom of the list, in bright contrast to the qualifying average, are Björk and Rustad. A clear proof of their dreadful first half of STCC 2010.

Overtaking maneuvers

Johan Stureson is the driver that has gained the highest number of positions from qualifying to race finish. The IPS Motorsport driver has on average climbed 3,3 positions in the races he has taken part in, although it should be noted that he has retired from two races which.

Dick Sahlén on the other hand has not retired from any races this year and has on average climbed 3,1 positions in each race. Something that compensates from his dreadful qualifying average of position 12.

Furthest down on the list is reigning champion Rustad who amazingly enough has lost 2,2 positions in the races he has seen the finish flag in.

Victories team

Polestar Racing tops the number of victories per team thanks to Dahlgren’s strong first half of the season, but not to forget Rustad’s win in the first race of the season. Göransson is alone taking WestCoast Racing to second with two victories.

Podium finishes team

Polestar Racing tops the podium statistics as well. But Team Biogas.se is right behind, just one podium finish adrift thanks to the stable efforts of Fredrik Ekblom and Patrik Olsson.

Average finishing position team

WestCoast Racing are on top of this list thanks to the sole driver Göransson’s stable driving so far this year. The drivers of Polestar Racing, Dahlgren and Rustad, has together finished on position 4,9 on average.

2007 team champions Flash Engineering are low down on the list with 6,7 as average finishing position for “Flash” and Björk.

The list of most retirements and non-starts is headed by Flash Engineering. The team has had a dreadful first half of the year, missing the finishing flag five times in 16 races. Polestar Racing are closest in this statistics with three failed races.

Penalties/Warnings

Reigning champion Rustad tops the not so prestigious list of most penalties. The Norwegian has been penalized twice after the incident with Björk in Karlskoga and the one with Andersson in Gothenburg.
