Third win of the year for Robert Dahlgren
Robert Dahlgren won the first race of the day and secured important points for the championship. Championship rival Richard Göransson finished third behind Thed Björk.
Göransson started fourth but was able to squeeze past Fredrik Ekblom for third in the final corner of the lap. The top three positions remained stationary after that.
Dick Sahlén closed in on Ekblom in the end, but had to settle for fifth. But the SEAT-driver had a close call when Ronnie Brandt blew his engine and spewed oil all over the track in the braking zone for the first corner.
Sahlén was unable to take the corner and was forced to take a trip over the gravel trap. The SEAT-driver rejoined the track with centimeters in front of Mattias Andersson, something Sahlén was given a warning for.
Viktor Hallrup secured seventh ahead of reigning champion Tommy Rustad in eight, something that gives the Volvo driver pole position for the second race.
The safety car was brought out once during the race when Jan “Flash” Nilsson stranded his car in the gravel trap of the first corner. The BMW-driver hit the oil from Brandt and spun on his own.
