Weight list for Karlskoga

The weight list for Karlskoga has been released with some changes. The BMW and the Volvo is still on top, while the Alfa Romeo has moved up and the Volkswagen Scirocco has moved down.

The reason for the Volkswagen Scirocco moving down the list, a reduction of 60 kilos, is because of a new homologation.

Team Biogas.se homologated a new Scirocco ahead of the race at Falkenberg in S2000 specification. This means that a new calculation of lap times is started for this model and the lap times are only calculated on the most recent race at Falkenberg.

The Scirocco was nine tenths slower on average at Falkenberg compared to the fastest car, the Volvo C30, which means that the car gets -20 kilos, giving a total weight of 1150 from the base weight of 1170.

The Alfa Romeo of Mattias Andersson and privateer Claes Hoffsten currently is the third heaviest car on 1170 kilos after a rather strong performance at Falkenberg.

Details

A total of ten parameters are used for each car model in the calculation of time differences between the car models:

1 – Fastest laptime in qualifying
2 – Second car’s fastest laptime in qualifying
3 – Fastest laptime in the first race
4 – Second fastest laptime in the first race
5 – Second fastest car’s fastest laptime in the first race
6 – Second fastest car’s second fastest laptime in the first race
7 – Fastest laptime in the second race
8 – Second fastest laptime in the second race
9 – Second fastest car’s fastest laptime in the second race
10 – Second fastest car’s second fastest laptime in the second race

If a car model is only represented with one driver, parameters 2, 5, 6, 9 and 10 are not used.

The difference value produced by this calculation then sets the weights for each individual car model. A maximum of 40 kilos can be added and a maximum of 20 kilos can be subtracted.
