Superior Volkswagen 1-2 in Karlskoga qualifying

There was no stopping the Volkswagen team in the Swedish Touring Car Championship qualifying session at Karlskoga. Fredrik Ekblom claimed pole ahead of team mate Patrik Olsson. The duo was over half a second ahead of third placed championship leader Robert Dahlgren.

Even further behind was title challenger Richard Göransson, claiming fourth, over eight tenths behind Ekblom’s best time.

Viktor Hallrup showed improved form in the Chevrolet Cruze, qualifying fifth ahead of Thed Björk.

Mattias Andersson and Tommy Rustad were the final drivers to make it to the second qualifying session, but neither completed a single lap. Both drivers were in the pits due to technical problems but sill still start seventh, Andersson, and eight, Rustad.

Jan “Flash” Nilsson just missed the Q2 session, 0.032 seconds from eight placed Rustad’s time.
