Fredrik Ekblom keeps title hopes alive

Volkswagen-driver Fredrik Ekblom booted his titles hope after the victory in the penultimate round of the Swedish Touring Car Championship at Knutstorp.
“I am very happy and proud over the fact that we can go to Mantorp with a shot at both titles,” said Ekblom.

Ekblom came to Knutstorp 44 points from the championship lead and left the race with just 18 points to the lead.

“This was a really good weekend for us, I am glad,” said team boss Tommy Kristoffersson.

Robert Dahlgren took over the championship lead as Richard Göransson had a struggling weekend with penalties and crashes at Knutstorp. Ekblom promises to make life hard for the both at Mantorp.

“You can count on that,” said Ekblom, who is chasing his fourth STCC title, just as Göransson.

The championship heads to Mantorp Park in two weeks for the final round of the year.
