First ever STCC title close for Robert Dahlgren

Robert Dahlgren is on the verge of taking his first ever Swedish Touring Car Championship title. The Volvo-driver heads the championship ahead of the final race weekend of the year at Mantorp Park this weekend.
“This is the first time I head to a STCC-final with more than a mathematical chance of winning. This is my best ever chance of taking the title,” said Dahlgren to the official championship site.

The title battle is a three way fight this year. Dahlgren is five points ahead of main rival Richard Göransson. Fredrik Ekblom is lurking a bit further down, 18 points.

“It is nice to have a buffer, but between me and Richard it is so close that it makes no difference,” said Dahlgren.

The STCC final is usually messy with a lot of incidents. But Dahlgren is not worried.

“If they want to fight hard it is their thing, I am going to try and be ahead, doing my own race. But I do know one thing, the spectators will get value for their money this weekend,” said Dahlgren.
