Ekblom enjoys being the dark horse for the title

Fredrik Ekblom is the dark horse for the Swedish Touring Car Championship title. The Volkswagen-driver is third, 18 points behind championship leader Robert Dahlgren.
“There are still 50 points left to fight for. There are drivers whose conditions have been worse and still gone home from the final with the title,” said Ekblom.

There has been a lot of controversy surrounding the turbo boost reduction for the Volkswagen team ahead of the finale.

“I am of course disappointed over this decision that affects our possibilities to win both the drivers and team championship. On the other hand, you have to be professional towards what has happened and I am really looking forward to the final,” said Ekblom.

Ekblom has scored most points of the three title contenders for the past couple of races and the Volkswagen-driver is enjoying to be the dark horse of the three.

“We are a bit behind in the fight, but it is always easier to be the challenger than to be the chased one,” said Ekblom.
