Thed Björk leaves Flash Engineering and STCC

2006 STCC champion Thed Björk has parted ways with BMW team Flash Engineering and is not going to be in the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship for 2011.
“It is going to feel strange to not be a part of STCC, a championship that has been a base for me for many years. I wish everyone good luck and I’ll perhaps be back another year,” said Björk to Auto Motor Sport.

Björk finished fifth in the championship last year and is for 2011 looking at other championships.

“There are new projects and ideas that I want to try out. I should be able to tell a bit more in two weeks,” said Björk.

Björk is leaving the door open on a return when the new rules come in to force for 2012.

“STCC is a strong championship that I want to be a part of. There is going to be one year before the new regulations come in to force and meanwhile I have got the offer to run other projects in both Sweden and internationally. I am going to take that chance,” said Björk.
