Motivation no problem for quadruple champ Göransson
Reigning and quadruple STCC champion Richard Göransson says he has no problem in finding motivation to hunt a potential fifth title ahead of the coming Scandinavian Touring Car Championship season.
“Neither I nor WestCoast Racing are in this for any other reason than to win,” said Göransson.
Göransson has claimed all his titles driving a BMW, one title for team Flash Engineering and the remaining three for team WestCoast Racing, the very team he is driving for this season.
“We are going to be there in the title fight this year and we need to reach our goals during the season and find a good rhythm. We have done it before and we are going to do it again,” said Göransson.
New for this season is that Göransson is going to get a team mate in the form of previous Carrera Cup Scandinavia driver Martin Öhlin.
“Martin is a new and motivated team mate, we can together fight for the team championship. I am going to focus on doing what I can to bring Martin up to speed with my experiences. It is a strength for the entire team that we both are quick,” said Göransson.
WestCoast Racing and Göransson are scheduled to complete their first test next week at Knutstorp alongside STCC-teams Flash Engineering, Polestar Racing and Brovallen Design.
