Neal takes victory from pole in final race at Brands
Matt Neal has won the third and final race of the day at Brands Hatch, ahead of the Motorbase Performance Ford Focus of Mat Jackson, with Paul O’Neill third.
The final race of the day saw a cheer from the crowd and the paddock as the cars formed for the grid, with the Rob Austin Racing Audi A4 of Dave Pinkney taking to the circuit, but unfortunately stopping around the back of the Kent circuit, unable to take up its place on the grid.
At the start, the top three held station, whilst Jason Plato immediately jumped to fifth from seventh on the grid. James Nash was pushed wide after contact with the Motorbase Ford of Mat Jackson, which then moved into fourth, and later passed the Tech-Speed Chevrolet of O’Neill for third on lap 5.
Gordon Shedden passed the fast starting Collard for sixth on lap 3, which had snuck ahead at the start, and battled with the Chevrolet Cruze of Jason Plato for the mid-part of the race. Shedden eventually passed Plato on lap 17 after the 2010 champion went wide through Graham Hill bend.
James Nash was on a recovery drive, dropped down to 11th at the start, and worked his way up to the tail of Jason Plato in the final stages to eventually finish sixth.
Andrew Jordan suffered a similar fate as race one with a front-left puncture forcing the Team Eurotech Vauxhall into the pits for a tyre change, and relegating Jordan to 20th place.
Matt Neal kept the lead throughout and claimed the point for fastest lap to take the win, with Jackson closing fast on the Honda on the final lap.
The series reconvenes at Donington Park in two weeks time.
