Video: Turkington enjoys successful test at Mantorp

2009 BTCC champion Colin Turkington has had a successful test at the Mantorp Park circuit in Sweden, as his team Flash Engineering prepare for the 2011 STCC season’s start in less than two weeks.

Turkington will enter his third different championship in three years with the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship, after a strong partial campaign in 2010 in FIA World Touring Car Championship, winning in Japan for West Surrey Racing.

Turkington will again race a BMW 320si run to Super 2000 specifications, but this time this will be for Flash Engineering, the team run and raced for by two-time Swedish Touring Car Champion Jan “Flash” Nilsson.

“Things have gone well today, we have driven both qualifying and race runs,” said Turkington.

“Mantorp is similar to the big tracks in the UK, it is fast, wide and has got a nice character.”

Turkington’s lap times were comparable to his more experienced team-mate, who is more familiar with the twisty Swedish circuits.

The team also released a promotional video of their test day which you can see here:
