Wrathall takes his first finish for Toyota

After a problem filled debut at Brands Hatch, Dynojet Racing driver Frank Wrathall was in the thick of it at Donington Park, taking his first finish in the NGTC Toyota Avensis.

Wrathall finished 17th, after qualifying as the top Next Generation Touring Car (NGTC) driver in 20th, and was battling in the top 15 before he was passed by Liam Griffin, Andy Neate & Tony Gilham, who were recovering after earlier incidents.

“I made a really good start and the first half of the race was absolutely fantastic,” said Wrathall to TouringCarTimes.

“The car’s not perfect at the moment, and it’s not going to be for quite a while yet cause we’ve got done such limited testing, but at the rate we’re improving and the fact we’re learning all the time, we’re ahead of where we thought we’d be.”

“I had a problem towards the end of the race which lost me three places, so to be knocking on the door of the top 15, not too far away from the top ten is fantastic.”

“I know we’re nowhere near the limit of this car, and I’m still learning to drive it, so if we keep making steps forward we’re going to be right in the mix before too long.”
