Göransson and Öhlin ready for STCC premiere

WestCoast Racing driver Richard Göransson and Martin Öhlin are ready for the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship premiere at Jyllandsringen in Denmark this weekend.
“It is going to be a very interesting season, a lot of good drivers that are not going to give away an inch,” said Göransson.

But the tough opposition of the STCC 2011, with drivers such as James Thompson, Rickard Rydell and Colin Turkington, is not something that is scaring Göransson.

“The greatest part in our success is that our team is working so well. Everyone knows what to do and everyone does their best. That is why we could win in 2010 as a one-car team and we have got two cars for this season,” said Göransson.

Öhlin steps up from Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia to STCC this year and is going to drive the second WCR BMW 320si.

“There are a lot of differences compared to the Porsche, the corner speed is among other things much higher in the BMW. You use the car in a completely different way. But I am aiming for the top and to help Göransson and the team to more success,” said Öhlin.
