Rydell and Turkington top close Mantorp test

Rickard Rydell and Colin Turkington topped a close test session at Mantorp Park. The top nine drivers were covered within two and a half tenth of a second, with Rydell setting the fastest time of the session with 1:21.944.

BMW man Turkington was just 0.023 seconds behind Rydell, with Volkswagen man Fredrik Ekblom another 0.065 seconds adrift.

Jan “Flash” Nilsson set fourth fastest time of the day with seconds left of the session, 0.013 seconds ahead of championship leader and fellow BMW driver Johan Stureson.

Tommy Rustad was sixth fastest with the time 1:22.189. Patrik Olsson and Alx Danielsson managed to set the exact same time, sharing the same thousand of a second in seventh and eight.

Martin Öhlin and Roger Eriksson rounded off top ten. James Thompson was the final driver within 0.6 seconds from the fastest time of the session in twelfth behind Tomas Engström.
