Ekblom fastest in close Gothenburg test

Fredrik Ekblom topped a close second Scandinavian Touring Car Championship test session at Gothenburg City Race Arena. The Volkswagen driver headed the field, just 0.035 seconds from Richard Göransson in second and 0.080 seconds from Johan Stureson in third.

Rickard Rydell further proved the close times in the top with being just one thousand of a second behind Stureson in fourth.

Mattias Andersson was fifth fastest, right ahead of British Volvo driver James Thompson in sixth.

Tomas Engström was first driver outside two tenths from the fastest time in seventh ahead of Tommy Rustad and Jan “Flash” Nilsson. Tobias Johansson, who brushed the wall in the first test session, rounded off top ten in his privately entered SEAT León.

A total of 16 cars were covered within one second in the session. STCC resumes action tomorrow with qualifying at 10.20 CET:
