Tomas Engström tests Honda Civic in Italy

Privateer Honda driver Tomas Engström joined JAS Motorsport to test a newly developed S2000 specification Honda Civic FD2 at Franciacorta in Italy yesterday.
“The car has got great potential and we reached lap times early on that are comparable with our current Honda Accord Euro-R,” said Engström.

The Honda has been developed by JAS Engineering for the Asian market and Engström helped the Italian team to test out the car.

Reports to TouringCarTimes indicates that Engström met with Honda Europe during the test in Italy, negotiating regarding a dealer contract for either STCC or TTA next season.

Engström drives a privately funded Honda Accord in his own team in the STCC 2011, currently lying eighth in the championship.
